At Gorilla Gutters, we want to help you make the best choice for your gutters or eavestroughs. To help you decide, we’ve prepared a brief guide to some of the most popular eavestroughing options:
- Aluminum- Aluminum eavestroughing is the most popular choice, due to aluminum’s light weight and resistance to rust. Aluminum eavestroughs also have the widest range of available colours, which makes them one of the best choices if you want them to blend with the rest of your home’s exterior.
- Galvanized Steel- Galvanized steel is sturdier than aluminum and designed to withstand the weight of heavy snowfalls. Like aluminum, it is rust-resistant, but it looks more rugged and will stand out more obviously from the rest of your home.
- Copper- Copper is extremely durable, and copper eavestroughs will have a long lifespan. Many people choose copper for its classic, sophisticated look, which will only grow more distinguished over time as the copper takes on its green patina (The green that forms as copper ages is not rust that will weaken your eavestroughing, but a harmless tarnish that can be scrubbed away if you prefer the brighter look). Note, however, that copper eavestroughing is on the pricier end of the spectrum.
